ECOSYS® TechnologyKyocera’s objective is to manufacture superior products with a low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and have little or no impact on the environment. Kyocera’s ECOSYS® Technology provides customers with a printing solution that incorporates long life consumables and a low cost per print. |
|
Kyocera’s ECOSYS printers include a durable imaging system using long-life drums, Organic Photoconductor (OPC) and Kyocera’s patented Amorphous Silicon (ASi), capable of handling up to hundreds of thousands of prints. These long-lasting drums are distinctly separate from the toner, eliminating the need to replace the drum when toner is depleted. The operating costs of traditional “cartridge-based” page printers can easily exceed many times the original purchase price during the life of the product. By utilizing Kyocera’s proprietary ECOSYS Technology, businesses can typically recoup a printer’s purchase price in one-year or less.
By eliminating the need to continually replace cartridges, ECOSYS printers do their part in helping reduce environmental waste – an added benefit for companies looking to enhance their environmental initiatives.

Traditional Office Printer |
Drum is separate from toner cartridge | Drum, developer and toner in a single unit, the drum has to be replaced every time toner is replaced, causing additional waste and costs.
Only toner cartridge is replaced when depleted; drum unit can handle hundreds of thousands of prints | Drum unit typically replaced many times during the life of the printer
Less downtime - drum rarely requires replacement | Replacement slows productivity
Lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) | Higher material costs of replacement parts
Increased landfill waste |
